| Many school patrol lines cross streets with significant traffic volume at intersections which are semaphore controlled. Some of these intersections are posted for NO RIGHT TURN ON RED WHEN SCHOOL PATROL IS PRESENT to protect students crossing through the intersection while traveling to and from school.
School Patrol members will report motorists who violate this restriction and they may be cited for a violation of Minnesota Statute 169.06. A motorist who violates this restriction and who also passes through a school patrol line will also be cited for a violation of Minnesota Statute 169.21.
