The Saint Paul Public Schools provides student transportation service to:
Public elementary and secondary students who are eligible for transportation service under District Board of Education Policy.
Public elementary and secondary students who require special transportation service due to a disability.
Resident non-public students who are eligible for transportation service under District Board of Education Policy and Minnesota statutes who are attending their attendance area non-public school which is located within Saint Paul.
Resident charter school students who are eligible for transportation service under District Board of Education Policy and who are attending a charter school which is located within Saint Paul and that as requested transportation service from the District pursuant to Minnesota Statutes.
During the 2003-2004 school year the District will transport a projected 46,253 students utilizing 371 school buses which will perform:
Transportation service will be provided to a projected:
- 40,198 Public School students, including 2,103 who will receive special transportation service due to a disability and 24,708 transported for desegregation purposes.
- 2,682 resident Saint Paul students attending charter schools located within Saint Paul who have requested transportation service from the District.
- 3,373 resident students attending non-public schools
Additional transportation service is provided to children attending programs operate by the Saint Paul Public Schools Community Education Department including Learning Readiness Programs and Early Childhood Family Education Classes.
